Beach Trip to Raglan

You can read some of our writing about the beach in our individual learning blogs.

  1. You are lucky to go to the beach. Our beach is different compared to this beach. Our beach doesn't have many rocks. Our beach has a wee trail. The tides come right up to the stairs where people walk down. Have you had any seals come up onto the shore? It takes 10 minutes to walk to our beach from school. How did it take you to get to the beach? Did you take a bus?

  2. Yes we did go on a bus. It took about an hour to get to the beach on the bus, but it would be faster in the car. They have seals at an island off the coast of Raglan. One of the teachers at our school used to live in Raglan and she said sometimes they get seals but not often. What else do you find on your beach? We saw crabs and an octopus in the rock pools. Raglan has really big waves and lots of people go surfing there. Does your beach have big waves? Does your beach have a skatepark and a BMX track by it? Does your class go to the beach a lot? Do you have shellfish, starfish or sea snails?
