Chinese New Year

This is us with our red envelopes with a gold coin in side for luck.  Thanks Alden's mum!
This is a model of a Chinese firecracker.

This is a Chinese lantern Alden got in Taiwan.

Thanks to Alden and his mum we got to learn about how Chinese New Year is celebrated.

We don't celebrate Chinese New Year but we do have someone in our class from China his name is Weyi and were trying to teach him to speak English. Sometimes he is funny he jumps around the room and he is already starting to speak English. Have you got any Chinese people in your class?

Wow you have lots of different cultures in your class and you can speak lots of different languages.
We have Alex who can speak some Japanese, Matthew who can speak some Chinese at home and Gemma who can speak some Chinese too. Weiyi can speak Manderin and Rico knows some saying that people from England use.
